Vol. 295 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 4, 15 (resumed), 11 and 14, the remaining Supplementary Estimates (resumed). Private Members' Business will be taken from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., No. 28 (resumed). By agreement, the Dáil will sit until 10.30 p.m.

On the Order of Business, yesterday when it was sought on this side of the House to raise the bus disputes affecting a number of cities you, Sir, ruled the question out of order. Since tabling the question we learned that the Minister for Labour had taken up the problem with the unions and the company. As we will now be denied any opportunity of raising the matter or debating it here before the recess, would the Minister today or tomorrow give the House some indication of the progress of his talks with the unions and CIE?

Obviously I would be depending on the progress of the court to be in a position to say what is happening. The talks are resuming this morning at 11 o'clock and there is nothing I can now tell the House about the progress of the talks.

Does the Minister not intend before tomorrow evening coming before the House at all to give us an indication of what is happening?

I have no objection to doing so if the House so wishes.

I will raise it again in the morning.
