Vol. 298 No. 2

Written Answers. - Workers' Pay Rates.

58.

asked the Taoiseach the revised rates of pay for forest workers, county council road workers and agricultural workers in the form of a reply of 26th October, 1976.

The following statement gives, for each county, (a) the basic weekly rate of wages paid to forestry workers for a 40-hour week. An incentive bonus is payable in addition to these rates, (b) weekly rates of wages, excluding service pay, paid by county councils to road workers for a 40-hour week, (c) statutory minimum remuneration (weekly rates) payable to adult agricultural workers under the employment regulation order of the Agricultural Workers Joint Labour Committee. These rates apply to a 45-hour week in the period March to October inclusive and a 42½ hour week during the remainder of the year.

In the case of forestry and road workers the rates quoted incorporate the first phase of the 1977 national wage agreement and will come into effect on 1st April next. The rates for agricultural workers came into effect on 1st March, 1977.
