Vol. 298 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registered Unemployed.

71.

asked the Taoiseach the number of persons registered as unemployed who were aged 16 to 21 years and 21 to 25 years, respectively, for the latest available date.

The only relevant information available relates to male registrants on the live register residing in incorporated towns. An age classification for these persons is compiled once a year for a date in late September. The total number of such male registrants on 24th September, 1976, was 41,115 and of these 4,632 were aged from 16 to 20 years and 4,927 were from 21 to 24 years. The total live register on the same date was 108,271, comprising 87,184 males and 21,087 females.
