Vol. 298 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Improvement Grants.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider granting an increase in the allocation of local improvement scheme grants for Sligo and Leitrim in view of the fact that a group of applicants in Leitrim have been informed that their applications may not be reached for ten or 12 years due to the long waiting list lodged with the county council.

I have already indicated, in reply to a previous question, that the full provision for the local improvements scheme in 1977 has been allocated to county councils.

Would the Minister agree that the allocation in this regard for every county is totally inadequate?

I cannot allow an extension of the question which refers to Sligo and Leitrim.

Thank you, Sir.
