Vol. 298 No. 10

Written Answers. - Unemployment Assistance.

102.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the cause of the long delay in paying unemployment benefit or assistance to a person (name supplied) in County Kerry.

The person concerned has been in receipt of unemployment assistance since 8th April, 1976, and the records in my Department indicate that payments due to him have been made regularly each week since then. Title to unemployment benefit does not arise in this case.

103.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have full unemployment assistance paid to a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

The person concerned applied for unemployment assistance on 3rd April, 1977. Particulars of her application were sent to a social welfare officer for investigation of her circumstances and his report has just come to hand. Arrangements are being made for issue of a qualification certificate and for payment of unemployment assistance at the rate appropriate to the level of her means as soon as possible.
