Written Answers. - Water Sewerage Schemes.

It is intended that the scheme referred to by the Deputy will get its water supply by way of an extension from Carrabrowne group scheme. Work on the latter scheme should, I understand, commence shortly. When the work has commenced my Department will allocate grants for the Anglingham/Killoughter scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the proposed sewerage scheme at Fossa, Killarney, County Kerry.
Approval issued on 16th March, 1977, for the installation of additional plant to increase the aeration capacity of the Killarney treatment works. The further consideration of the Foss sewerage extension scheme must await a report by the local authority on the performance of the extended treatment works.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position of the group water supply scheme at Killeenavarra and Toureen, County Galway.
The design for the Toureen scheme, serving approximately 25 houses, has recently been approved by my Department and Galway County Council. My Department's local inspector will be in touch with the group soon to advise them about the seeking of quotations for the necessary materials and the carrying out of the work.
The Killeenavarra area is included in a proposed scheme to serve Killeenavarra and Keamsella, Ardrahan. The source originally proposed proved, on testing, to be inadequate. There is, however, another group scheme in the area known as Kiltiernan and Galway County Council have been asked to arrange for quality and quantity tests on source at present used for a roadside pump. If the results are satisfactory the inspector will examine the possibility of including all or portion of the Killeenavarra/Keamsella area in the Kiltiernan scheme.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the proposed Spiddal regional water scheme, County Galway.
The specification of the civil works on this scheme, for which I approved contract drawings on 16th March, 1977, was received in my Department on 25th April and is being examined. Contract documents for the mechanical and electrical plant have yet to be submitted.
