asked the Minister for Labour the number of apprenticeships and the different trades involved which have been provided in the Dublin area this year.

At mid-March, 1977 there were a total of 839 1st year apprentices registered with AnCo in the following trades in the Dublin area:

Building	266
Engineering	223
Motor	174
Electrical	152
Furniture	14
Dental	7
Printing	3
	839

Would the Minister say if this is the total number of vacancies available or have all vacancies been filled?

The 1977 target for the intake of apprentices is 3,000.
