88.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if his Department will erect a telephone kiosk at Doonaha, County Clare, which was guaranteed by Clare County Council.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 87 and 88 together.

If Clare County Council accepts the terms quoted to them recently for the provision of a guaranteed kiosk at Cloonanaha, it is hoped that the kiosk will be erected within about four months of the formal guarantee agreement being signed.

Clare County Council have not sought the provision of a kiosk at Doonaha under the guarantee scheme and there are no plans at present to provide a kiosk there. A guaranteed kiosk would be provided if one is requested by the council.

89.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will consider the provision of a public telephone at Rossaveel, Connemara, County Galway.

Public telephones are not provided in areas such as Rossaveel where there is no post office.
