Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ireland—USSR Co-operation.

17.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the extent of scientific and technological co-operation between Ireland and the USSR since December, 1976.

The Deputy will be aware that during my visit to Moscow last December an agreement was signed between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the USSR on the development of economic, industrial, scientific and technological co-operation. Under this agreement a joint commission, consisting of representatives of the two Governments, was established to examine and to promote inter alia the development of scientific and technological co-operation. The Commission will meet for the first time, in Dublin, from 17th to 24th June.
