The functions of Comhairle na nOspidéal are specified in section 41 (1) (b) of the Health Act, 1970. There is provision under paragraph (b) (vi) of section 41 for the performance by the comhairle of such other cognate functions in relation to hospital services as may be prescribed. No such cognate functions have so far been prescribed under this paragraph.
