Vol. 299 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Leitrim Estates.

16.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if his attention has been drawn to the manner in which the allocation of the Lennon and McGlynn estate at Prucklish, Newtownforbes, County Longford, and part of the Lennon estate at Moneylagan was accomplished; and if he will take steps to correct the bad pattern left in the townland as a result of the scheme.

I understand that the lands referred to by the Deputy were included in a composite scheme for division of six estates, aggregating 183 acres, of which some 143 acres were allocated recently.

The selection of allottees, and the determination of the lands to be allotted to them, are reserved exclusively to the Lay Commissioners and I have no function in the matter.
