Vol. 299 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Speed Limit Signs.

27.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he received an application by Wexford County Council for the erection of speed limit signs and the extension of existing ones in County Wexford; and when he expects to be in a position to make a decision on the matter.

Proposals for the review of speed limits in County Wexford were received in my Department on the 9th November, 1976. It was necessary to seek clarification of some description of locations and to correlate certain measurements of distances as between maps and schedules to enable me to make amending regulations. This information has now been received and I hope to be in a position to make the regulations shortly.

Does that apply to all applicants for new speed limits or extensions of existing ones?

Yes, any recommendation to the Department for an extension will be dealt with in the very near future.

Could I have a written reply to Question No. 53?

Certainly. The remaining questions will appear on the Order Paper for the next sitting day of the Dáil.
