80.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has any proposals for the provision of telephone kiosks in County Clare this year.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 78 to 80, inclusive, together. During the past 12 months, my Department have received requests from various sources for the provision of a total of 20 telephone kiosks in the following areas of County Clare: Ballinacarra (Kilfenora); Bealaha (Doonbeg); Cloonanaha; Corbally (Kilkee); Doonaha; Dysart; Ennis; Ennistymon; Killimer; Kilmurray McMahon; Leeds (Miltown Malbay); Miltown Malbay; Noughaval (Kilfenora); Parteen; Six Crosses; Spancil Hill; St. Brigid's Well (Liscannor); The Hand Cross; Toovahera (Lisdoonvarna) and Toonagh.

Clare County Council have accepted the terms quoted to them for the provision of a kiosk under the guarantee scheme at one place in County Clare, that is Cloonanaha. It is hoped that the kiosk will be erected within about four months of the formal agreement being signed. Terms have been quoted to the council recently for the provision of guaranteed kiosks at two other places.

Excluding guaranteed kiosks, it is planned to provide telephone kiosks in the following areas of County Clare this year: Ennis, Killaloe, Kilmurray McMahon, Parteen and Querrin.
