Vol. 299 No. 11

Written Answers. - House Insulation.

40.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will provide a grant to improve the insulation in new houses.

I have no proposal at present to provide a special grant for this work.

41.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Local Government the methods of insulation of houses available at present; and if his Department have approved any of these methods.

There are so many methods of improving thermal insulation standards, and so many diverse materials available for this purpose that it would not be practicable to list them all. Any method of thermal insulation which will meet the requirements laid down in the draft building regulations recently published by my Department will qualify for my approval. If the Deputy has any particular method or material in mind I will have inquiries made about it and let him know the position so far as my Department are concerned.
