Vol. 299 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Limerick Estates.

50.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will furnish an up-to-date report on the acquisition of the Keays estate, Caherconlish, County Limerick.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to his Question No. 83 about this estate on 8th February, 1977. The owner's appeal against the price fixed was heard by the Appeal Tribunal on 21st March, 1977, and the price was finally determined. The Land Commission have decided to continue their proceedings but before the matter can advance to the possession stage there is a question of the possible exclusion of the dwellinghouse and a certain area of land to be considered. The Land Commission are awaiting the outcome of an approach which they have made to the owner on this point and until the matter is clarified they are not in a position to finalise the proceedings.

51.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the Smee Estate. Cappamore, County Limerick, will be divided.

The Land Commission hope to divide the property referred to next year.

52.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the Keane Estate, Kileely, County Limerick, will be divided.

53.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when the Cullen Estate, Cloverfield, County Limerick, will be divided.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 52 and 53 together.

I understand the formulation of proposals for the division of these two estates is at an advanced stage and the Land Commission hope to allot the lands this year.
