With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 59 and 60 together.

An application made on behalf of the chairman of the board of management for the provision of central heating at Knockainey national school and the repair of the roof of the prefabricated classroom has been approved, on the recommendation of the Commissioners of Public Works.

A grant towards the cost of these works will be sanctioned shortly.

asked the Minister for Education when work is expected to commence on the erection of the new school at Caherline, County Limerick.

The Commissioners of Public Works, who have been carrying out investigations of the site proposed for this new school have reported that they will not be in a position to proceed with the preparation of sketch plans for the new school until their investigations have been completed.

I am not in a position, therefore, to say when building work will commence.
