Vol. 301 No. 1

Written Answers. - National Museum.

435.

asked the Minister for Education the date on which the National Museum obtained vacant possession of the premises provided for it at Merrion Row, Dublin; whether these premises have been occupied; if so, when; and the use being made of them.

Vacant possession of 7/9 Merrion Row was taken by the Commissioners of Public Works on behalf of the National Museum on 5th January, 1977. A contract for the fitting out of the premises was placed in July, 1977, and the operations are expected to be sufficiently advanced to allow the museum to go into occupation of office and storage areas within the next month. It is also intended to complete an exhibition area as soon as possible. The exhibition areas will take some time longer to complete.
