asked the Minister for Education the total amount of public funds spent on youth services and youth clubs in the Dublin city and county council areas during the last financial year.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Youth Services.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate a list showing the grants awarded by my Department in 1976 to governing bodies of youth services and organisations which operate in Dublin city and county. Dublin Youth Service Council which received £200,000 operates exclusively in Dublin city while the major part of the work of the Catholic Youth Council, which received £29,000, also lies in that area. The other bodies listed engage in activities in the two areas in question as well as in other areas throughout the country and information as to the portion of the grants paid to those bodies by my Department which was devoted to youth services in the Dublin city and county areas is not available.
