Vol. 302 No. 2

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefit Applicants.

352.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment benefit has not been paid to a person (name and details supplied) in County Offaly.

A claim for unemployment benefit made by the person concerned on 6th October, 1977 was disallowed by a deciding officer on the ground that she did not satisfy the statutory condition for entitlement to benefit which requires that she be available for employment. She appealed against this decision and arrangements are being made for an appeal hearing at which it will be open to her to attend and give evidence on her own behalf. She will be notified in due course of the place, date and time of the hearing.

353.

Payment of all unemployment benefit due to the person concerned was made to her on 25th November, 1977. Further payments will continue as they fall due.
