Vol. 302 No. 3

Written Answers. - Family Home Protection Act.

191.

asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of difficulties in interpretation which have arisen, he will consider amending section 3 of the Family Home Protection Act, 1976, by deleting the word "void" and in lieu thereof, making a conveyance by a spouse without prior consent of the other spouse voidable at the option of the latter.

I do not know what are the difficulties that the Deputy has in mind, nor what are the Deputy's reasons for suggesting this particular amendment. I am, however, always ready to consider the need to introduce amendments to the Act, and I shall be glad to consider the Deputy's suggestion if he would care to send me a note of his reasons.
