Two officers and five NCOs from the Defence Forces are currently serving with the United Nations Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). They are all stationed at the force headquarters in Nicosia.
There are at present 21 Irish officers attached to the United Nations Truce Supervisory Organisation in the Middle East (UNTSO). Eight of these officers have been detached to serve with the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) and one has been detached to serve with the United Nations Emergency Force (UNEF). The officers in the Middle East are based in Jerusalem, Tiberias, Damascus, Cairo, Ismailia and in the Southern Lebanon at Naquora.
