Vol. 302 No. 6

Written Answers. - Thurles District Court.

218.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will take the necessary steps to arrange for a second sitting per month of the District Court, Thurles, County Tipperary, in view of the substantial increase in cases being heard over the last 12 months.

The arrangements for sittings of the District Court are the subject of continual review in my Department. As part of this review, the adequacy of the number of sittings at each District Court venue is being examined at present in the light of the number of cases heard there in the legal year ended 31st July, 1977. If, as a result of this examination it is evident that extra sittings are required at Thurles, the Deputy may take it that I will make arrangements accordingly.
