Vol. 302 No. 9

Written Answers. - Ancient Monuments.

140.

andMr. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of each county the location and type of each previously recorded ancient monument which was found to have been destroyed in the course of the archaeological survey which the Office of Public Works is carrying out; and as far as possible, if he will state the archaeological significance of the monument and the reason for its destruction.

The preparation of the information requested which would entail the checking of each individual record would seriously delay the archaeological survey and would not be justified.
