Vol. 302 No. 10

Written Answers. - Educational Curriculum Co-ordination.

37.

asked the Minister for Labour if there are any formal and permanent links between the National Manpower Service and the Department of Education; and, if not, whether he has any plans to introduce such links to co-ordinate the orientation of this country's educational curriculum with the realities of the working world.

There has always been co-operation between the National Manpower Service of my Department and the Department of Education in matters dealing with the education, training, guidance and placement of school leavers.

In line with the Government manifesto proposal for the co-ordination of career guidance and placement of schoolgoers I am having talks with the Minister for Education to see how that co-operation can be made more effective.
