Dingle Harbour is in a designated Gaeltacht area so the question of dredging there is a matter in the first instance for the Minister for the Gaeltacht. My Department, in an advisory capacity, recommended further dredging works at Dingle Harbour in 1975. Roinn na Gaeltachta have informed this Department that, in view of their heavy commitments elsewhere throughout the Gaeltacht, they cannot hold out hope of financing further outlay on works at Dingle in the foreseeable future.
