asked the Minister for Justice the amounts of fines for illegal parking, including fines-on-the-spot, collected by the Garda in each year from 1969-70 to date in respect of motor vehicles parked in the Dublin area; and the amount of such sums in each year expended by the Exchequer in providing or in helping local authorities to provide off-street parking accommodation.

Fines imposed by the courts in respect of unlawful parking are not recorded separately in court offices. A special examination of the records over the period would be necessary to extract the information requested. I do not think that the value of the information would justify the work that would be involved in obtaining it.
Up to and including 1977 all moneys collected by way of fines for road traffic offences, including illegal parking, and including also fines-on-the-spot, were remitted to the Road Fund. Disbursements from that fund were a matter for the Minister for the Environment.
