Vol. 303 No. 1

Written Answers. - Parking Meter Fees.

360.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state in respect of the sums received by Dublin Corporation in parking meter fees for each year since 1969 as detailed by him in a reply of 9 November 1977, the amounts expended in providing off street parking accommodation; and the annual income of Dublin Corporation for the same years from rents received by it for sites used as public car parks.

While Dublin Corporation did not seek my consent to expend moneys derived from meter fees on the provision of off-street car parks, I am aware that, from 1970 on, works carried out by the Corporation with the aid of Road Fund grants included the provision of car parks at North Great Georges Street, Bride Street and Rathmines. Information on amounts received by the Corporation from the licensing to private operators of sites for use as car parks is not available in my Department.
