Vol. 303 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Job Creation.

25.

asked the Minister for Health if he will state, since the job creation programme was commenced in his Department, the total number of jobs created and the breakdown of these jobs in each of the following categories: (a) skilled versus unskilled; (b) medical professional versus administrative.

The total number of jobs created in 1977 was made up as follows: Non-Capital Services, 3,200; Capital Projects and maintenance works, 1,000.

Would the Minister be able to give any indication, from the figures at his disposal, of the proportion of skilled rates versus unskilled?

The Deputy may not raise something on a matter which is being circulated.

There are thin dividing lines: for instance, portering—79 —it is a very scattered table. It ranges from medical, dental, public nurses down to porters.

Are they the jobs provided for in last year's budget?
