Financial Resolutions, 1978: Financial Statement, Budget, 1978. - 1978 Public Capital Programme
As the public capital programme has been reviewed in a booklet published on 27 January I shall only briefly remark that expenditure on the programme in 1978, at £766 million, will be £107 million, or 16.3 per cent, more than the 1977 outturn. Bearing in mind the expected drop in the rate of inflation, this programme will provide sufficient resources for a real increase in the volume of investment and will enhance the prospects for growth and for a reduction in unemployment.
