asked the Minister for Finance if he will furnish details of the model investigation carried out for Howth, County Dublin (a) outside the harbour (b) inside the harbour and if any provision has been made for deepening the approaches and diverting sand shoals from the west from entering the deepened channels.

In connection with the preparation of a plan to develop a fishery harbour centre at Howth a model study was made of the harbour area and its approaches to evaluate post scheme conditions.

Provision has been made for deepening the approaches in conformity with the harbour development scheme.

Siltation from any source is not expected to be a significant problem.

asked the Minister for Finance the number of berths, giving the size of vessels catered for currently available at Howth Harbour, County Dublin.

Approximately 60 boats varying from 50' to 80' in length can be berthed at Howth Harbour.
