Vol. 304 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballinteer (Dublin) School Board of Management.

10.

asked the Minister for Education the names and addresses of the elected parent members of the board of management of Our Lady's Boys' national school, Ballinteer, Dublin.

I do not consider it appropriate that I should disclose the names and addresses of individual members of boards of management of national schools.

Why does the Minister not consider it appropriate, given that those people are the only directly democratically elected people to have charge of any aspect of our primary school system, with the exception of the Minister?

If the Deputy wants to know the names of the boards of management I am sure he could communicate with individual boards of management and he would get the names from them. It is not my function to supply them.

If I communicate and if I fail to get the information will the Minister then supply me with it?

The Deputy can come back to me.

Will the Minister supply me with the information if I fail to get it?

The Deputy can come back to me.

The Minister is refusing to give it.

The Minister is refusing nothing.
