On the basis of the information about current housing needs in Ballinasloe available to my Department, the allocation of funds for the building by the urban district council of another 30 houses would not be justified at present. However, I propose to have the housing needs position in the town investigated locally in the near future. I will give further consideration to the council's proposal when this investigation has been completed.
