Vol. 305 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Roscommon Amenity Area.

410.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the serious concern among the local community caused by the granting of planning permission to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon for the erection of buildings of considerable size in an area of high amenity and scenic beauty; if he will have the problem fully investigated; and if he will make a full statement on the matter.

Under the provisions of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 and 1976 a decision as to whether permission should be refused or granted in any particular case is entirely a matter for the planning authority concerned and I have no function in the matter.
