Vol. 305 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - IRA Benefits.

28.

asked the Minister for Defence the number of IRA special allowances, service and disability pensions granted during the term of office of the last Government.

During the period in question 1,889 new special allowances were granted; nine new IRA disability pensions were granted following the review, under the Army Pensions Acts, 1973 of applications which had been previously refused; no military service pensions were awarded.

How many applications were received during this period?

I was not asked for that information and I do not have it on file for the exact period mentioned, but if the Deputy wants to put down a separate question I will give him that information.
