Vol. 305 No. 11

Written Answers. - Patients' Pocket Money.

221.

asked the Minister for Health if the pocket money allowance will be increased for patients and residents in the Sacred Heart Home, Roscommon, and other institutions in the Western Health Board area, from £2.50 per person per week to £5.00 per week.

An increase in the amount of income which a person in the Sacred Heart Home, Roscommon, and other institutions in the Western Health Board area may retain for personal spending would be a matter for the health board. I am informed by the board that as from 3 April 1978, the amount which a person may retain for such purposes has been increased from £2.50 to £3.00 per week.
