asked the Minister for the Environment if he considers that youth hostels should be exempted from paying local authority domestic rates.

154.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he proposes to exempt hostels which are run for students and young office workers, usually on a non-profit basis, from paying local authority domestic rates.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has had any plans for including the following hostels: Iveagh Hostel, Dublin and Salvation Army Hostel, York Street, Dublin among residential buildings which will be exempted from paying local authority domestic rates.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the proposed exemption from rates will include the rates which would normally be due on the pitch or pitches which form part of the property of a bona fide community hall.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he considers that a sports club with a hall and changing rooms as well as a licensed bar, which provides activities of a social and recreational nature for residents of a locality, is a bona fide community hall.

160.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he considers that cottages which are built for the purposes of self-catering holidays should be exempted from local authority domestic rates.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 153, 154, 155, 156, 157 and 160 together.

My proposals for the definition of the various types of property to be relieved of rates will be incorporated in the Local Government (Financial Provisions) Bill which will be circulated in due course.
