: There have been nine adjustments to the Irish green £, the first in October 1974. It is estimated that as a result of these adjustments the balance of payments is currently gaining by about £360 million per annum. It is also estimated that income per annum in the agricultural sector in Ireland is about £500 million higher than would otherwise be the case.
