: Under the present regulations vocational education committees may appoint teachers on the staff of the committee to a post of responsibility for the purpose of organising and administering adult education activities in their areas. In the present stage of development of the adult education services this arrangement appears to me to be most appropriate to the circumstances of committees in general. It is my intention, however, to keep the matter under periodic review.
: Is the Minister saying that there is no proposal at the moment to appoint an adult education officer ex quota?
: Yes. If the Deputy studies the programmes of the committees he will find that in all cases except two they have not sufficient adult education ex quota officers. He will see that they do a magnificent job and they have magnificent programmes going.
