: There is no proposal before my Department from Kildare County Council to increase council workers pay by £2 per week. The local authority have, however, advised my Department that there is a problem concerning the pay of roadworkers which appears to have arisen from the implementation of a suggestion by the Employer-Labour Conference in April, 1974 to the local authority regarding the application of the National Wage Agreements. The matter is being examined at present.
