: Catchment areas for second-level education were drawn up on the general basis of distance of the pupils' homes from the nearest post-primary school centre and were defined in consultation with the local educational interests. Particular factors had also to be taken into account, such as traditional attendance patterns, geographical features, suitability of roads and special local circumstances.
