Vol. 309 No. 4

Written Answers. - Teaching Institution Course.

425.

asked the Minister for Education the procedure to be adopted by a teaching institution which wishes to have a qualification recognised by the Registration Council for Secondary Teachers; and if the Council has the power to recognise a course before any students have actually graduated from it.

The normal procedure for a teaching institution wishing to have a qualification recognised by the Registration Council for Secondary Teachers is to make a formal submission to the council.

With regard to the power of the council to recognise a course before students have actually graduated from it, the conditions on which such recognition might be accorded would be a matter for consideration by the council in the first instance having regard to the circumstances of each case.
