The number of patients on the waiting list for hip replacement operations at St. Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Gurranebraher, Cork, on 3 November 1978 was 205.
The number of hip replacement operations carried out in the hospital during the year ended 31 October 1978 was 161. A breakdown of this information as between medical card holders and private patients is not available but I have asked the health board for this information and I will forward it to the Deputy in due course.
