Vol. 309 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Donegal School.

349.

asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in providing the three extra classrooms for Niall Mór school, Killybegs, County Donegal; if he is aware that two classes are using the old school which was condemned, with no suitable toilets, and the pupils must cross the public road to use the toilets at Niall Mór school; and in view of the extreme need for extra classrooms the steps he proposes to take in the matter.

It has been decided that three extra classrooms and a general purposes room should be provided at Niall Mór national school.

My Department are at present awaiting a report from the Commissioners of Public Works as to the feasibility of providing the additional accommodation on the existing school site. Pending the provision of additional accommodation a former school building is being used as temporary accommodation. The Commissioners of Public Works have also been asked to investigate the possibility of installing temporary toilet facilities at the old school and to report on the need for any other improvement works pending the provision of the proposed extension.
