Vol. 309 No. 9

Written Answers. - County Limerick Schools.

350.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of new schools at (a) Fedamore, (b) Caherline and (c) the extension of Caherconlish, County Limerick; and when work will commence in each case.

It is hoped that work on the new school at Fedamore will commence in early spring.

A grant towards the cost of a new school at Caherline will be sanctioned when title to the site has been furnished. I am not in a position to say when work will commence.

The office of Public Works are at present awaiting tenders for the extension to Caherconlish school. I am unable to say when work will commence.

351.

asked the Minister for Education if it is proposed to provide a new primary school at Roxborough near Limerick city; if so, when; if it is proposed to retain the existing school at Donoughmore; and, if not, why.

It is proposed to provide a new primary school at Roxborough to replace the existing school there. The question of whether the existing two-teacher school at Donoughmore should be retained or should be amalgamated in the new school is at present being considered. When this has been decided, the arrangements for the building of the new school will be proceeded with.
