Vol. 311 No. 1

Written Answers. - Brucellosis Eradication Scheme.

213.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that the result of some specimens of blood submitted for analysis under the Brucellosis Eradication Scheme do not reach the herd-owner (details supplied) until the twelfth day after the samples have been taken; and the steps being taken to rectify this situation.

In the case of blood samples taken privately for premovement purposes, the time taken for results to reach the herdowner is normally much less than twelve days. In exceptional cases the normal interval may be prolonged both by postal delays and the intervention of weekends as happened in the particular case referred to in the question.
