Do I understand that the acting head of GIS was in the US recently making arrangements for such a visit, or is this a complete misunderstanding on my part?
That is a misunderstanding. There is no connection whatever between the GIS head and any visit that I might make to the US in the future.
Obviously it was not the only misunderstanding.
