Vol. 313 No. 6

Written Answers. - Drainage Schemes.

265.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will contribute towards the cost of the proposed drainage scheme at Shanagarry and Garryvoe, County Cork, especially in the provision of a suitable outlet for the water at the sea shore.

An application for a joint drainage scheme in the locality has recently been received in the local farm development service office of my Department and is being processed.

As regards the provision of an outlet to the sea shore, I understand that certain works to be undertaken in the area by Cork County Council will involve the provision of such an outlet.

266.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the total number of applications received for grants under the EEC western drainage scheme and the total number of applications for grants in County Clare.

Almost 14,000 applications for grants under the EEC western drainage scheme have been received to date. County Clare accounts for 830 of these.
