A formal application for a licence to provide a cable television system to relay RTE 1 and RTE 2 in the area in question was made to my Department on 5 October 1978. Consideration of the application is held up pending the receipt of replies to letters dated 14 December 1978 and 8 February 1979 in which my Department asked for additional information. Accordingly, I cannot say when this service is likely to commence or even if a licence will be issued in this case.
