Vol. 314 No. 8

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 4, 7, 8 (resumed) and 9. Private Members' Business from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m., No. 28 (resumed).

As tomorrow is a Church Holiday it is proposed that the House will not meet until 11.30 a.m.

Why is it that the Members of this House have frequently to read Government publications in the paper before they themselves get them? I have found out that the National Prices Commission report which was on the news this morning and in all the papers is not yet available to Deputies.

I complained about that myself. I will check it out for the Deputy.

The Government have had the report since 10 April. When will they issue their recommendations or make a decision on it?

It is not on the Order of Business, surely.

Can the Taoiseach answer it, even if it is not on the Order of Business? Will the Taoiseach agree that because of the energy situation it would be a good idea for the Government to absorb these increases and subsidise CIE to the amount of these increases as an aid to energy conservation?

We cannot have a discussion on that now. It is not in order.

Item No. 4.
