Vol. 314 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Galway Drainage.

91.

asked the Minister for Finance if the drainage of the River Nanny at Tuam, County Galway, will be completed during 1980.

The Nanny River was scheduled for treatment under the arterial drainage scheme for the Corrib-Clare catchment area. It had to be postponed because the existing Tuam waterworks would be damaged by silt. When Galway County Council have carried out their proposed improvements to the water supply to Tuam the drainage of the Nanny will be reconsidered. In the circumstances there is no prospect of the drainage of the river being completed during 1980.
